The Layer Window is  used to view and manipulate the layers of a drawing without leaving the drawing screen.  For more information on managing the layers and what symbols mean visit Manage Layers Tool.

 

 

       

Information about each column:

Name: The name given to this layer. This can be modified in the Manage Layers dialog.

On: If the lightbulb is lit this layer is "On" and the entities on it are visible, else if the lightbulb is off (dark) the layer is not visible. To turn ON/OFF any layer: Click on the "light-bulb" icon in front of the layer name. Depending on drawing's size, it may take longer to reflect changes in drawing.

Frozen: Hides this layer by not passing it to the rendering engine; this increases performance. To FREEZE/THAW any layer: Click on the "Sun/Snow" icon in front of the layer name. Depending on drawing's size, it may take longer to reflect changes in drawing.

Lock: If locked (closed padlock) the layer is not modifiable. To Lock/Unlock any layer: Click on the "Lock" icon in front of the layer name. Depending on drawing's size, it may take longer to reflect changes in drawing.

Color: The color that entities, who's color value is set to "By Layer", will be drawn as. To change the color of a layer: Expand the color drop down menu in the "Color" column, and choose the color you wish.

Plot: Whether or not to include this layer on plottings. To include/exclude a layer in printing: Click on the "Printer" icon in front of the layer name. Depending on drawing's size, it may take longer to reflect changes in drawing.

In Use: A check mark is shown if this layer has entities on it.

Linetype: The linetype that entities, who's linetype value is set to "By Layer", will be drawn as. To change the linetype of a layer: Expand the color drop down menu in the "Linetype" column, and choose the linetype you wish.

Lineweight: The lineweight that entities, who's lineweight value is set to "By Lineweight", will be drawn as. To change the color of a layer: Expand the lineweight drop down menu in the "Lineweight" column, and choose the lineweight you wish.

Plot Style: The style to control the layers properties during plotting.

Description: The description of this layer. This can be modified in the Manage Layers dialog
