Toolbars |
Ribbon: In the new release of hsCADView we have swapped out the classic toolbars (as default) and put a ribbon as the new location for tools. Instead of having multiple toolbars, each with a different kind of tool, we have multiple tabs on the ribbon bar; each tab contains different types of tools.
Minimize the Ribbon Right-click within a ribbon tab and click "Minimize the Ribbon". This will slide away the tool tabs. To access them click on the tool tabs top tab. The minimization process can be undone in the same manner.
Previously our tools were grouped on toolbars--now they are grouped on tabs on the ribbon. Toolbars still exist and are used for the snap tools. Also users can create their own toolbars. The toolbar is a collection of icons that activate Tools. All of the toolbars have the ability to dock (be placed on the various edges of the drawing window) or float anywhere in hsCADView's window.
To Move a Toolbar:
Docking a Toolbar: When a toolbar is moved near the edge of the hsCADView screen, its title bar is removed and the toolbar tightly snaps on the edge; a nice way to save screen space. Once you have managed to position the toolbars and windows to fit your needs you can manage their positions by using the following commands.
Managing and Preserving Toolbar Layouts: Visit Workspace Layout for more information on managing the layouts. Save: Layout (Saves the current placement and sizes of all user interface elements within the workspace) Revert: Layout (Returns the current placement and sizes of all user interface elements to the last Save layout state) Save As...: Layout (Saves a layout file to a user defined location)
Each toolbar can be customized by size, location, tools located on the bar, or visibility. To learn more about the modifications you can make to the toolbars, visit the Customizing Toolbars chapter.
Many toolbars have one or more than one toolbars hidden within them. These are known as flyout toolbars. Flyout toolbars are provided to save the screen space and allow access to different tools of similar type. Flyout toolbars are sub-toolbars hidden within a normal toolbar icon.
