The Text Tool is responsible for creating Text Entities.
From the Toolbar: Find the text tool icon on the Entity Toolbar (color coded blue) and Click on the tool. The tool is now active and ready for use.
From the Shortcut Key: The default shortcut key for the point tool is the letter "T". Simply press the key and the tool will be activated.
From the Command Line: Type "text" into the Command Line, at the top of the notification window, and press the Enter/Return key.

1. Click on the drawing to specify the position of the Text Entity.
2. Now that the position is set, use your keyboard to type out the desired text. The text will display in realtime--both in the drawing and on the property tree.
3. If "Specify Rotation" is enabled: Move the mouse cursor on the drawing and click when rotation is as desired.
4. If "Specify Height" is enabled: Move the mouse cursor on the drawing and click when height is as desired.
Reset:
• | After working through the necessary steps the text entity is added to the drawing. The tool automatically resets and you can either continue with other tools or draw another text. |
• | Using reset at any time while using this tool cancels all previous steps and restarts the tool. |

To add a text entity using solely the keyboard open the Tool Tab in the property tree.
1. Type the position point coordinates into the "Position" 3D Point Property Field found on the Tool Property Tree and press Enter to accept.
2. Type the text data into the "Text" field and press Enter to accept.
3. If "Specify Rotation" is enabled: Type the rotation angle data into the "Rotation" and press Enter to accept.
4. If "Specify Rotation" is enabled: Type the text height data into the "Text Height" and press Enter to accept.
Reset:

Right Click: Brings up a Context Menu containing options for this tool.
Escape (Esc): Cancels current tool and activates the default tool (Selection Tool).
Space: Resets this tool.
